Discover the fascinating world of Owls! Getting to know owls is an interesting challenge and a great topic to develop research skills. Brainstorm with your students and record the facts and ideas they think they know about owls. As your unit develops, refer to the initial brainstorming charts to see how accurate your knowledge was. Some of the different owls you will be researching include the Barn Owl, the Great Horned Owl, the Snowy Owl, the Screech Owl, the Elf Owl, and the Barred Owl. You will also research the different parts of an owl. The activities in this unit focus on the following skills: creative writing, brainstorming, word study, phonics, research and art.
