Introduce your students to today's environmental problems. This unit is intended as a starting point in identifying these problems and understanding the ways of resolving them. Students will learn about the "4 Rs": reduce, reuse, recycle, refuse, and how they can make a difference. It is important to reinforce a positive attitude while creating awareness of these environmental problems so that students realize there are solutions, and that they can be part of these solutions. These atvitities are fun, challenging and informative, while providing a sound knowledge of environmental concerns needed by our children today so they can learn to protect our environment of tomorrow. Practical suggestions and fun activities include experiments, word puzzles, crafts, research, surveys, raps, and games.
